In this blog I'm going to talking about how CAFO and the article "The End of overheating" by David A. Kessler are alike. In the CAFO it talks about how animals get slaughtered and get processed and how they get to us while we eat it. The CAFO where animals get slaughtered and what types of medicines and steriods they put in the animals they get delivered to us and we the people eat it. From the article " The End of overheating" by David A. Kessler he talks about us the people being targets and we eat the food. Not only CAFO provides us with meat that is contimanted, Kessler tells us that sugar, fat, salt are a big problem as well. Over the years people all of a sudden are gaining a lot of amount of weight even children over the years are gaining weight thanks to the sugar, fat and salt.Scientist who did reasearch on this believe that " fat provokes so many different sensations in the mouth, we can't always tell which food contains the most fat or why perfer one sugar-far mixture to another" (Drewnowski 13). A lot of fat that we eat more likely we can't taste the sugar or salt thanks to the fat we eat, this tell us that the fat changes are taste which is a big problem. Nothing can stop this because we eat or drink a lot sugar, fat and salt.

I believe the video had a lot to encounter. The guy was getting in trouble for growing illegal stuff. He owed a lot of money to the state. I believe it was over 25,000 dollars. It is unfair because other people do worse crimes like the slaughterhouses. People in general are dying everyday from diseases. This mother in the video of a young boy died from eating a burger. He got a disease and died. He was a young healthy little boy with great support. Now the mother is trying to stop these slaughterhouses from producing this unhealthy meat. She does not want other children and people in general to die especially the way her little boy died. It is not shocking but just more upsetting the way crap happens all over the world. It is messed up stuff, and a lot of people don’t care what happens to anyone. They just care about themselves. And it has a lot to do with these workers in the factories. In my opinion it makes me mad to know what is going on. And how know one really makes an effort to put a stop to it. I have a lot of respect for the woman in the video who lost her son because not only do I feel bad for her because she lost her son its more than that. I respect her for the person she is. She isn’t selfish she is trying to make a difference and shes one person. She doesn’t want any other kid to die and other mothers wouldn’t care they would just be selfish. I just feel disgusted. To be honest before this i didnt know this much about slaughterhouses, and this much about people dying from these diseases, and now that i know i would love to try to put an end to it or i would love to try and help that girl. It just makes me mad!

The Book “The CAFO Reader” by Daniel Imohff is about how we really get our food here in the United States. There are a lot of food companies that don’t want to share with us on how we get our food and where it comes from. “More than 10billion animals are being slaughtered every year” this quote is  important because this number is “twice the number that Americans raised during the 1980’s and more in the 1940’s.” In 2050 the global combustion of meat and dairy will double in that year.  A lot of people don’t really know this is happening. The CAFO is spreading all over the United States, CAFO changed the way they treat animals. Animals cannot simply move when they are locked in small cages and giving medicines and even hormones. Scientists believe that medicines are being used on animals rather than humans. Mainly when the medicines are in the animals, the animals we eat are covered with medicines and goes to our body when we eat them the same goes for hormones there inside the animals. The most important aspects of the CAFO system are confinement. The amount of animals is dying quickly for example: 7,000 cows, 130,000 cattle, 360,000 pigs, and 24 million chickens die and rapidly all of these animals are dying. A lot of animals feel pain and also suffer whenever animals are getting killed. Future historians will see how CAFO treated these animals. A lot of animals have the rights to live but CAFO doesn’t allow that they will use animals for money and for food and people will buy it.
